Damona's Yogathon Source
You know that I love yoga. I've done retreats, workshops, seminars, and been to conventions but I have never practiced for 24 hours straight. But that will change on June 30th, 2007. Yes, you heard me, I will be doing a full day of yoga.
Why you ask? Because yoga is about more than just stretching, it is also about 'kula' or community. That is why I am giving back to my community by joining City Yoga's Yogathon to raise money for HABITAT FOR HUMANITY.
- 88% of Angelenos cannot afford the median priced single-family home at $540,000.
- Los Angeles has the largest homeless population in the nation - roughly 48,000 on any given night.
- Los Angeles ranks 199th out of 199 American cities in housing affordability.
Habitat for Humanity's mission is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness around the world.
Whether you live in LA or somewhere else in the nation, Habitat for Humanity is working in your 'kula' to elimate the housing crisis. Your donation in any amount is a step towards change.
For each donation of $75 or more, I will dedicate a pose to you. You will be sent the english and sanskrit name of your pose and a photo of me in your pose at Yogathon. If you have a favorite pose, please send the name of it with your $75+ donation and I do the pose of your choosing.
