Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
On June 8, Jim O'Neill and I (and hopefully some other friends) will be riding a 100 mile century which has climbs of over 12,000 ft total. We start at the San Buenaventura Mission and end up at Mt Pinos summit. I haven't done the ride for about 12 years and was much younger then! (I will be 62 this summer - I must be nuts - the ride is brutal!) My goal is to raise $4000 to support the Masibumbane Mission in Mpophomeni, South Africa. Our congregation (Trinity Lutheran Church, Ventura) has made two trips to work at the mission (2008 and 2012).
Below is a brief description of the mission I will be riding for including a website for more information:
Masibumbane HIV/Aids Mission
Providing sustainable, holistic care for people with HIV/AIDS and empowering HIV/AIDS affected families and orphans to be self-reliant. This effort is focused on the small township of Mpophomeni (Zulu for "waterfall"), near the town of Howick, 120km west of Durban in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Donation through the Lifewater International website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. To sponsor my ride simply click on the donate button above.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
