Welcome to my 2010 MBHP Boston Marathon Team fundraising page. As many of you know, there are two things that I love (besides my 3 pugs). 1. Working. 2. Running.
At my job, I am honored that I get to helps folks resolve a myriad of problems from healthcare to housing and ALL things in between. In my four amazing years doing this job, I have found stable housing to be the most difficult for folks but also the most important. Metro Boston Housing Partnership has helped me help people who face foreclosure, eviction, homelessness, hoarding, etc. Things are so tough for these folks right now and times are tough for non-profits, too. Many great agencies have been victims of revenue shortfalls and been drastically cut. I want to help MBHP so they can continue to provide all these great services to those who need them -- could be any of us!
A way that I can help MBHP is to combine one passion with another - running. I am going to train to run the Boston Marathon in April on the MBHP team along with one of my dearest friends, Alayna Van Tassel. As many of you also know, 3 years ago I lost about 100 lbs. It is an all out war to keep it off! Running has become a very important part of winning daily battles. I hope to use my passion for the work of MBHP with my determination to stay fit to run and enjoy each of the 26.2 miles.
I hope you will consider donating to our cause. I understand how much this support means in times so tough on everyone. So thank you for thinking about it. I know I will see you all lining the streets of Boston this spring to cheer us on.
Alayna and I will have a fun event coming up...lots of surprises and good times! Check out my blog, too at http://runsaccorun.blogspot.com/
