I have been running around the world since 2006 to help raise awareness of and money for Pediatric Brain Tumor Research. Ben McDonald, the 9 year old son of my friend Leah McDonald, is running the race of his life every day as he and his family struggle with his brain tumor. With my runs, through The Endurance Trust, I support the Pediatric Low Grade Astrocytoma Foundation - PLGA Foundation. In support of the PLGA, I have finished the 150mile Desert Crossings of the Gobi (China), Sahara (Egypt) and the Atacama (Chile) - as well as many other Ultras and Marathons along the way.

F.E.A.R. 250/5 (Florida Everglades Adventure Run - 250 miles in 5 days)
On December 13th, 2009, I will start a solo run from Marco Island to Key Largo and then on to Key West. This is a 250 mile traverse of the Florida Everglades and the Florida Keys in one push. My goal is to finish in less than 5 days.
With the funds raised, we will be working to benefit 2 different causes. The majority of funds will be designated specifically to the PLGA Foundation in support of Pediatric Brain Tumor Research. We will be setting aside some funds to provide Dolphin Therapy for several local kids with Autism and other complications caused by their brain tumor and the associated therapies. This will take place at Dolphins Plus in Key Largo.
