During the week of May 1st - May 7th, 2012, Michelle and Kim will be joining 4 other swimmers as they become some of the few intrepid souls to swim from Europe to Africa across the famed Strait of Gibraltar.
Reaching depths of over 3000 meters, this channel is one of the busiest shipping lanes of the world and boasts some of the most challenging currents to face an open water marathon swimmer!
Michelle and Kim will be representing The Endurance Trust as they raise money for and awareness of the "Swimming Saves Lives Foundation". The USMS Swimming Saves Lives Foundation provides grants that encourage more adults to choose swimming as part of their health, fitness, and lifestyle. This worthy program is working with Masters Swim Programs around the country with a specific goal of helping our Wounded Warriors.
Michelle and Kim are being sponsored by The Endurance Trust and 100% of all donations will go directly to the Swimming Saves Lives Foundation.
There are many worthy causes out there, but if swimming has made a difference in your life, or if you want to give thanks to the members of our armed services who have put it all on the line for us, please donate whatever amount you can!
Also, feel free to post this and share it with your friends. Michelle and Kim will be updating the progress of the swim via FaceBook!
Thanks for all the support!
