Justin Dachshund is an owner surrender that was unable to provide the vetting that Justin needed. Unfortunately when he came into rescue we found out just how badly he needed our help. Justin was in desperate need of a dental and ended up losing 11 teeth after already loosing 22 from lack of dental care. He now has 9 remaining teeth but his mouth is finally healing from severe infection.

Justin will be turning 10 years old in June and when we took him in we realized that he has a large mass hanging from his neck and several tumors on his belly and chest. The vet ruled out cancer on all of them but the tumor on his neck needs to be surgically removed.  We asked the vet to run blood work to make sure he was healthy enough to undergo surgery and found that his thyroid in not working properly and he has Lyme disease. He is losing weight now that he is on thyroid medication and his mouth is healing very well. He will start his new antibiotics for the Lyme disease in a week.

This just leaves the surgery to remove the large mass hanging from his neck. We really need to raise enough money to have the surgery done so that he can go up for adoption and live the better half of his life with a great family that will love him furever. Justin wants what most dachshunds want; to love you and snuggle with you on your lap. He is a wonderful boy that deserves a better life than what he has known.
