Montgomery County, MD is one of the most affluent counties in the country. Many families, especially single mothers, cannot afford to purchase their own home and struggle to make ends meet because of the high cost of living.
An increasing number of Montgomery County residents are living in substandard conditions and women from around the community have the capability and determination to be part of the solution. In an effort to bring these women together, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, Maryland, Inc. (HFH-MC) has launched the Women Build program. This partnership will give women the power to change the life of a low-income family by raising the funds to rehabilitate a distressed home into one that is simple, decent and affordable.
About Women Build
Women Build is a national program, which is not about excluding men; but rather empowering women in our local communities. Women from Montgomery County, MD have been working together for over a year to raise money and have construction days for HFH-MC. They will also donate hundreds of volunteer hours working alongside a deserving family to rebuild the home. This is a great opportunity to network with other like-minded women in Montgomery County while transforming the lives of a deserving family.
Through tax-deductible donations and volunteer hours, women have the power to make dreams come true, together.
