UPDATE 12.18.11 Thanks to YOUR donations Hailey was able to get her surgery and has made a huge improvement! Unfortunately, Hailey's surgery was not 100% successful and she is still leaking urine. Hailey has been able to live comfortable in her foster home and there are only a few more steps to get her ready for ADOPTION!! These steps are costly but we want Hailey healthy so she can have her own forever home. The surgery ahead entails placing an artificial ring around the uterus ($3200). Once the ring is in place she will receive an injection that will expand the ring to the correct size ($1500). After this step, Hailey will need a final scoping ($1500) to make sure everything is a-okay after the surgery. Hailey is a fighter, a strong soul, her spirits always high. Her foster mom has kept her smiling and her tail wagging. Together with your help, we will get Hailey the surgery and Karma Rescue will find her the best home!

Hi Friends!
I am Hailey. I am only 4 months old and I was going to be put to sleep at the shelter. I couldn't believe it! I gave everyone kisses and made sure to wag my tail every time I saw a person, but no matter how much I loved every single person I met, no one wanted to adopt me. My last day at the shelter came quickly, and I was really scared! I'm very fortunate that Karma Rescue called the shelter and said they were sending someone for me. I was so happy to see him when he got there, I wiggled and kissed him lots.
I went to my foster home and then I started to feel really sick. I had a really bad upper respiratory infection (URI), and I could not stop leaking urine and making a mess on my foster mom's floor and in my bed. She took me to the vet right away. I got some medicine for my URI, and then they told me when I was feeling better I would have to have Ectopic Ureter Surgery.
Ectopic ureter is an abnormally located terminal portion of the ureter. Instead of the ureter opening in the bladder, it opens in the urethra, vagina, or uterus. The result is constant dribbling of urine. It isn't just a little bit, it happens all day long. I'm embarrassed to say that I make a mess everywhere I go!
I'm nervous about the surgery, but I am afraid that if I don't have the surgery, then no one will want to adopt me.
Can you help by donating what you can? I want to feel better AND find my forever family ASAP!
Thank you,
Hailey
