Hi my name is Jax. I am a pit bull around one and a half years old. I was adopted as a puppy from Karma Rescue by my mom Rici. I have had the most awesome life. I grew up to be a big boy, am well socialized, and get along with everything! I am pretty cool I must say. My mom always makes sure I am the most comfortable always and I love her so much for that. She does a great job with me.

Something really sad happened to me on Christmas Eve. I started to get very sick. I was throwing up over and over and I was very lethargic. My mom rushed me to the hospital to see the doctor. After they looked at me they told my mom it was going to be almost $1200 to fix me. I was so scared. I know mom doesn't have the money for this and I wanted to stay alive, I was so scared.
My mom was in a panic and she called Karma Rescue where she adopted my from. She told them what happened to me and they said they would help! I felt SO bad since I know Karma Rescue rescues so many dogs like me and now they will need to use some of that money to get me healthy. But they were there! And I love them for that.

I went home after the night but I was still not better!

Mom rushed me to the vet again on Saturday and I had to stay there and get hooked up to all these fluids. I stayed there for days. Karma Rescue again paid for the bill. I again felt so bad!! I just wanted to get better. I wanted to come home. I was finally released. But this did not end here.

The very next day I threw up all day again, and this time the vet said I needed the hospital and fast. They were not even sure I would survive. I needed an ultra sound ASAP. So off to the hospital I went. They discovered I needed immediate surgery. I had something stuck in my intestines, and I was going to die if they did not take it out. The surgery is so expensive, it was almost $7000! And mom was so sad to have to ask Karma Rescue again to help, and they did! I needed a lot of transfussions, and I needed tubes in me to drain. I was so uncomfortable. While I was there recovering my intestines were so weak they started to leak. The vets called right away and said they had to go back in and fix me again. And this time the surgery would cost $10,000 because there was a longer recovery and more transfussions needed! I didnt think I had a chance. I did not think I was going to be able to get the 2nd surgery. I was saying my good byes in my head, I was crying, I was really scared. Then mom called Karma Rescue again and they said YES! They will! They love me! They love me so much!

I am now in recovery, and still fighting hard for my life. I want to get better. I want to come home!

I need a REALLY BIG FAVOR from you all...PLEASE can you help me raise money for Karma Rescue. They saved my life! If they didnt do all they did, I would be dead. I need to help them get some of the money back they spent, I dont want other dogs to die because they did not have the money to save them. Please, they have saved over 1000 dogs just like me, they are a non-profit, all the money goes to the dogs! THEY NEED HELP! I NEED TO HELP THEM, I NEED YOU TO HELP THEM. Any amount counts...

UPDATE: Today, January 6th at 8am our boy Jax passed over the bridge. We were with him when he went. After his second major surgery we thought he would be ok but his body had a different plan. Jax was a year and a half. He was one of the best dogs I have met. Rici, his adopted mom, gave him a great life! He will be missed greatly and remembered eternally. We love you Jax!
