Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis
Khosrow was a loving dad, grand dad, friend and brother who bravely fought and lost his battle with IPF on August 5th 2010. His adventurous spirit and love for life will forever be missed by his loved ones.
What is IPF:
IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) is a lung disorder characterized by progressive scarring -- known as fibrosis -- and deterioration of the lungs, which slowly robs its victims of their ability to breathe.
Approximately 83,000 Americans suffer from IPF, and there is currently no known cause or cure. An estimated 31,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. IPF is difficult to diagnose and does not respond to medical therapy. Lung transplantation remains the most viable course of treatment to extend the lives of those with IPF, however, not everyone is a candidate and not everyone survives long enough to receive one. An estimated two-thirds of patients die within five years of diagnosis.
My sister Newsha and I ask you to please join us and thousands of other families in our effort to raise funds for research. To push for the drug development necessary to eradicate this devastating disease so that no other person has to go through what our dad went through, and no other family member has to witness a loved one suffer the way he did.
In support for IPF reserch, please click on the "Give Now" button to make a pledge in honor of our dad. All proceeds will be directed to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Thank you whole heartedly,
Nikoo and Newsha.
