The Community Groups within our church have been challenged by our Senior Pastor Dave Lynden, Christian authors; Francis Chan and Richard Stearns to put our Faith in the Gospel not only into words but action.

"If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." 1 John 3:17-18

Our goal is to raise enough money to drill a well in the drought and famine stricken country of Ethiopia, Africa.
 

Facts: 
1. Approximately 1.2 billion people don’t have clean drinking water.
2. Five million people die every year of water-related illnesses.
3. A child dies every 15 seconds of a waterborne disease.
4. Despite risk, women and children spend two hundred million hours a day fetching water.

The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the LORD will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs...so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this...Isaiah 41: 17-18, 20
 

...but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-15
 

We realize these are difficult times economically for all of us. So, we are not asking you to give more or transfer your current charitable and spiritual giving. We're asking that you SPEND LESS and use the savings as your donation. Here are some suggestions on ways to contribute:
1. Pray, Pray, Pray that God may overwhelm us with generosity.
2. Reduce the amount you spend this Christmas and donate the difference.
3. Reduce the number of times you go out to eat for lunch and dinner and donate the savings towards the well.
4. Cut back on your favorite morning beverage and donate the savings.
5. Get rid of some of your tools or equipment that is collecting dust in your garage or basement by selling them and donating the proceeds.
6. Clean out your closets and attics and sell jewelry, furniture, clothing or other items you’re willing to sell and donate the proceeds.
7. Sell your old video games and donate the proceeds.
8. Save and donate your pocket change over the next couple of months.
9. Reduce your water consumption at home and donate the savings.

This Christmas consider making a contribution to the well project in the name of someone (teachers, postal workers, friends, family) instead of purchasing a gift.
