NYC 9/11
Hi and thanks for visitng my page. My name is Evan Lotzof. On 9/11 weekend, the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks I will be running the Goruck Challenge in New York City. The challenge is a physical and mental test in a class of 30 individuals led by a cadre of ex-Special Forces Operators. We will each stuff a bag full of bricks and run over 15-20 miles over a period of 8-10 hours whilst facing freezing water, pushups, log carries, buddy carries and more along the way.
My goal was to raise $2,500 (now $7,500) which will be donated to the Green Beret Foundation in honor of those who died in the attacks and Specifically in memory of Chris Traina, my friends brother who died in the World Trade Center.
Nearly 3,000 victims and the 19 hijackers died in the attacks. Among the 2,753 victims who died in the attacks on the World Trade Center were 343 firefighters and 60 police officers from New York City and the Port Authority, and 8 private emergency medical technicians and paramedics. Another 184 people were killed in the attack on the Pentagon.
The Green Berets bear the burden of having the highest number of wounded personnel of any other U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) proponent. The Green Beret Foundation serves these quiet professionals who bravely serve the American people and its freedoms.Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Update- I am adding a dedication for this race for MMA legendary coach Shawn Thompkins. He was the coach for the Los Angeles Anacondas of the International Fight League. At the time of his death, he was an instructor at the Tapout Training Center. He died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 37. Tompkins taught such notable fighters as Sam Stout, Chris Horodecki, Mark Hominick, Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva. His tragic death was a huge loss to the entire MMA community.
