MAB Community Services has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities since 1903. MAB's programs include the Ivy Street School (serving adolescents with brain injuries), MAB Adult Disability Services, and the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. MAB is the oldest social service organization in the United States to continuously provide programs for individuals who are blind or visually impaired and we were a pioneer in creating community-based housing and employment for adults with developmental disabilities who had previously resided in state institutions. The Ivy Street School is one of only a few schools in the country to focus on brain injury, the leading cause of death and disability among adolescents and young adults. Our expertise in blindness, developmental disability, and brain injury makes us unique in the Massachusetts health care and social service community.
