You found the fund-raising page for the Tuscaloosa runners sub-team of Team Samaritan's Purse. Three women (Pamela Banks, Karen Spector, and Tori Gleason) have determined to run the Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham on February 12, 2012. We figure, why not run for something bigger than ourselves?
This year, Team Samaritan's Purse is raising money toward clean water in South Sudan. So, most donations will be funneled that direction...although we have a particular fondness for shoeboxes--no, not the kind from TAF with new shoes inside, but the kind that people fill with basic needs, fun things, and a gospel booklet, to send to people in need across the world. So, we will send some of the funds that direction too! For more information about these shoeboxes, click here:

They are usually packed and sent at Christmas time, but why not pack some ahead of time?
Note from Tori: Last year, the fund-raising was almost as exciting as the half marathon itself, as I got to see the body of Christ at work--each part with their own part to play. All of us together accomplished much more than any of us alone--of course, it is God who works in us to do the "accomplishing"--more glory to Him!
Anyway, we want to run this marathon for His glory. Do you want to you join our team?
If you would prefer to send in your donation by check, you can send it to
