Hello family, friends and colleagues,
On October 26, 2011 we are traveling to Nicaragua with Bridges to Community to build homes for the less fortunate. We would like to ask for your help in raising funds for the construction supplies needed for this community service project.
About Bridges to Community: Bridges is a 501(c)3 non-profit community development organization that strives to create a world where basic needs are treated as human rights: shelter, nutrition, education, healthcare, and employment. They work to meet this goal by bringing groups of volunteers to live in materially poor communities for a week where they work on community development projects. About our trip: During our week-long Fall Business Leaders trip, 15 of us from around the U.S. will build two homes in the community of Masaya, about 50 miles south of Managua. The homes we build will change peoples lives. They are simple concrete structures built to sustain hurricane-force winds. The families selected work side by side with us as their home is built. Having a roof over their heads, a tile floor under their feet and a front door enables them to maintain their health and safety and go to school and work each day. Our sole reward is celebrating with the community as the families move in to their homes on the final day of the trip.

While we are all paying our own way to Central America, we are helping Bridges raise the money needed for construction supplies required to build the two houses we'll be constructing during our trip.
