Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
My mission is to raise money on behalf of my daughter, Emma, who is an incredibly bright happy girl who brings lots of joy and happiness to everyone she meets. Emma was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at age 4 after a long regression which took from her the ability to feed herself, speak and perform the most basic self care skills.
Rett Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder that primarily affects females. As it is present at birth, symptoms do not usually appear in children until the age of 6 – 18 months. Rett Syndrome causes symptoms that are similar to cerebral palsy and autism, often resulting in misdiagnosis. While there is currently no cure for Rett Syndrome, there have been significant advances in diagnosis and in promising research.
We are raising money for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation whose mission is to fund research for treatments and a cure for Rett syndrome while enhancing the overall quality of life for those living with Rett syndrome by providing information, programs, and services.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
