Hi, my name is Patrick O'Brien and I am buzzing off my hair in an event to raise money for children and their families fighting pediatric cancer. It's called the One Mission Kid's Cancer Buzz-Off and will be held on Sunday, June 3, at Gillette Stadium. All proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital Boston and the vital programs and life-saving research they provide to help kids beat cancer.
I have chosen to buzz off my hair because the toll pediatric cancer takes on patients and their families is profound. Children must endure painful treatments and lengthy hospital stays while their families cope with unimaginable stress, anxiety and financial strain.
In 2010, Children's Hospital kept my son, George, healthy and as comfortable as possible during his hospital stay following the removal of his tumors. I will be forever thankful.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts, cares and gifts during George's surgery time and treatments. George is doing great and smiles more each day. Six cancer screenings later, he is still all clear! We are blessed and proud to call you friends.
Many thanks for your support with this event -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Also, please visit John Lynch's donation page, he started this effort and inspired me to join. www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/jlynch9105/kidscancerbuzz-off
