Giving Campaign for Perry County Humane Society

We need your help!  Please consider helping by donating even $5 and challenging your family, friends, and co-workers to do the same.

This small non-profit shelter is working hard to make a difference throughout southern Illinois. However now is the time they need your help the most.  They are facing an increase in vetting expenses due to the number of heartworm positive dogs that they have been willing to save.  Not all shelters will accept these dogs and many of them would otherwise have been put to sleep.

Heartworms are caused by mosquitos and can be deadly for dogs who do not receive monthly preventative (ie. Heartguard).  Once a dog has heartworms, they often require a series of painful and dangerous injections that are very expensive.  Currently 50% of the current dogs at this shelter are heart worm positive and require treatment to save their lives.  This treatment cost is often up to $200 per dog (in addition to the other expenses).  The shelter needs help!

Please consider helping by donating even $5 and challenging your family, friends, and co-workers to do the same.  It only takes 5 minutes for you to make a difference and give to this great organization.  Your help will save a life!
