My precious 3 yr old princess suffered her first symptom on April 7, 2009. It was the middle of the afternoon and she was settling down for snack time with her brother. That's when George layed down on the kitchen floor and just stopped. I helplessly held my baby, on the phone with 911, while my children watched. The paramedics didn't know what was wrong with her, the police searched my house and found nothing that could have harmed her, the ER doctor and nurses were stupified. As I held my fallen angel, no one could tell me what happened to my baby. It took the coroner to diagnose her, death by Sudden Cardiac Arrest. She'd had an unformed right ventricular heart valve. No one ever knew and that baffles me. How can our children just stop without warning. How can "they" know of this possibility and not tell us. Well I am telling. This type of disease is 3 times more common than Luekemia and even has a higher mortality rate. How can something so big be pushed under the rug? Please read on and find it in your heart to help save an angel. Whether you make a donation or just tell a friend, help uncover this killer that lurks in our homes waiting to take our babies.
Thank you for joining our campaign to save lives by raising money to continue patient family support and SADS education programs. Several thousand young people die unnecessarily each year from SADS (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes) in the United States, and education is the answer.
Funds raised through the Climb to Conquer SADS will:
- Provide Family Support to assist patients and their families in making informed medical decisions and living with the challenges of these conditions
- Increase General Awareness of Warning Signs to recognize and prevent heart rhythm abnormalities
- Educate Health Care Professionals in early diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm abnormalities
- Be Advocates to increase arrhythmia research and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
