November 25-27th - Ultraman World Championships!
Rusty's final race of the year will be the Ultraman World Championships in Kona!
The race is a 3-day 320 mile journey around the Big Island of Hawaii. Rusty will be one of just 40 people invited this year to participate.

The Racing Team (so far):
Russ Carter Jr. - Russ is a long time runner with accomplishments including a Marathon and multiple shorter distance races. Russ is also a Cancer survivor and inspriation for Season 1 Racing. This year, Russ will be able to add "Triathlete" to his title as he completes his first triathlon on May 1st.
Steve Vargas - Steve is a professional personal trainer and has physical accomplishments that include climbing to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Steve also is a cancer survivor and has contributed to the vision of Season 1 Racing. Steve will add this year "Triahtlete" to his resume as he completes his first triathlon (possibly) towards a series of races leading to an Ironman.
Marcus Machado - Marcus is a second year triathlete from Rio de Janero, Brazil. Marcus is a currently a 70.3 distance triathlete and in 2011 will take on a number of challenging races including a 70.3 at Wild Flower, a 10k swim and an Ironman. Marcus has completed Big Kahuna last year in an impressive 6:24:18 and also completed Alcatraz on his Birthday - October 2.
Hazel Abidayo - Hazel is a Marathon runner, and is aspiring to qualify for the NYC Marathon. Hazel has decided to give Triathlon a "tri" and will be competing in her first ever at the May Spring Sprint Triathlon. Hazel HAD her eye on a potential 1/2 Ironman or Ironman for 2012, and decided instead to do her first half THIS JULY at Barb's Race! She will be competing in several more races this year and is already planning her 2012 race calendar. Good luck Hazel!
PATRICIA MACHADO - Patricia is a distance runner and wife of Ironman Marcus Machado. Patricia has been a big supporter of Season 1 Racing and will running her first race with the team at the Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon.
SAMANTHA HO - Samantha is a runner and has done several races in the past, but this will be her first race helping Season 1 Racing and Cancer Hope Network. She is currently finishing her Nursing degree and hopes to work in Oncology where she can further help people going through Cancer treatment.
HOLLY CARTER - Holly is the wife of Russ Carter Jr. and mother of Rusty. With this race, Holly will go from being the #1 supporter of Season 1 Racing to the #1 Supporter AND RACER for Season 1. Holly's positive attitude and determination has helped her set goals she never thought she would even try for, and will be racing to complete her very first 1/2 Marathon (in fact longest race over 5k!)
Rusty Carter - Rusty became a triathlete in 2010 and in that year completed 2 70.3 1/2 Ironman races, and two 140.6 races including Ironman Cozumel. Rusty started Season 1 Racing to race for a cause and provide people an option to do the same without large financial committments that many cause-based racing teams require. Since then, others have began to join, and are helping shape and grow Season 1 Racing to help and inspire others. This year, Rusty again plans to compete in two 70.3 races, and two 140.6 Iron distance races. Rusty's athletic goals now include a spot at the Ironman World Championships and an invitation to Ultraman World Championships.

SF Bay 10K Bridge to Bridge Swim
Date: September 11, 2011
Location: San Francisco Bay, CA

This race is a 10 kilometer swim from San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge to the Oakland Bay Bridge.
This will be both Rusty and Marcus' longest swim to date. Inspired (and talked into it) by a fellow racer that will be doing both her first 1/2 IM and Full IM in 2011, Rusty decided to support and join her in this milestone swim. Once Marcus heard about the race, he too registered and will now be racing as well. Ironman Florida

Location: Panama City Beach, FL

This will be Marcus' first Ironman Race, and first race greater than 70.3 miles. In preparation for this race, Marcus will have completed several 70.3 races including Big Kahuna in Santa Cruz, CA as well as the Bridge to Bridge 10k swim.

Ironman Arizona
This race takes place in Tempe Arizona and is a full 140.6 mile Ironman Triathlon.

This will be Rusty's first time doing Ironman Arizona, second full Iron-distance race this year, and final race of the season. If you haven't donated already, please help Rusty cap off the year with a donation to Cancer Hope Network.
