To the Summit: Everest Ascent for Special Operations Warrior Foundation
On March 31, 2013, I will depart on a journey to the summit of Mount Everest at 29,029 feet, the highest point on Earth. The climb is the continuation of a journey that has taken me to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua, two of the world's spectacular Seven Summits. I climb to acknowledge the tremendous impact in my life that has come through being a part of the US Air Force and the Special Operations community. In addition, I honor those that we lost, especially the friends and family who paid the ultimate price in the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan. With your support, we will help honor our lost comrades through the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF). 100 percent of your donations will go directly to SOWF, a group committed to providing scholarship grants to more than 900 children of the approximately 800 Special Operations personnel who have given their lives for their country since 1980. To learn more about the SOWF, and follow the climb, please visit www.specialops.org.
To all of the fallen, and especially those affected by the tragic loss of Wrath 11, we do this in memory of your ultimate sacrifice.
