GREEN BERET FOUNDATION

GORUCK Challenge NYC 9/11 New York,  New York

NYC 9/11

On 9/9/2011 the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks I will be running the Goruck Challenge in New York City.  The challenge is a physical and mental test in a class of 30 individuals led by a cadre of ex-Special Forces Operators. Starting at 19:00 we will each stuff a bag full of bricks and run over 15-20 miles over a period of 8-10 hours whilst facing freezing water, pushups, log carries, buddy carries and more along the way.

My goal is to raise $500 which will be donated to the Green Beret Foundation in honor of those who died in the attacks.

Nearly 3,000 victims and the 19 hijackers died in the attacks. Among the 2,753 victims who died in the attacks on the World Trade Center were 343 firefighters and 60 police officers from New York City and the Port Authority, and 8 private emergency medical technicians and paramedics. Another 184 people were killed in the attack on the Pentagon.

The Green Berets bear the burden of having the highest number of wounded personnel of any other U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) proponent. The Green Beret Foundation serves these quiet professionals who bravely serve the American people and its freedoms.
