Benefiting Special Olympics Oklahoma

 

WHAT:

59.6 mile Walk from Tulsa to Stillwater, Oklahoma to raise money for the Special Olympics Oklahoma in the name of Cpl. Jared Shoemaker.

All funds go to the Special Olympics of Oklahoma and will be presented to them on May 9th at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Games.

 

WHY:

We have the opportunity to help honor a true hero. This Hero's name is Cpl. Jared Shoemaker,  a United States Marine and Police Officer for the City of Tulsa, OK. Jared was killed in action on September 4th, 2006 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Jared and two other Marines were killed in Iraq by a roadside bomb. Jared Shoemaker not only served the citizens of Tulsa, but the Country that he loved. This is our way of honoring him for making the ultimate sacrifice.

 

WHEN:

Mon, May 7, 2012 at 0800 hours until Wed, May 9, 2012.

 

WHERE:

Chandler Park, Tulsa, OK (Tulsa old Hwy 51) to the OSU campus in Stillwater, OK.
