Running for Miracles—Carter Andrew Biata

2012 marks the 5th year of Team Carter. This year, over 40 runners will be coming together to run the Rochester Marathon on Sunday, September 23rd as full marathoners, half marathoners, or relay runners – all to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey.
This team celebrates Carter Biata and the organization (RMH of SNJ) that helped his family give him a chance to improve the quality of his life after being diagnosed with Spina Bifida during a routine ultrasound in 2003.
Over the past 5 years, Team Carter and its supporters have raised enough money to furnish and decorate a Phillies-themed room in the RMH, and made it a “Give 365 Room.” This means that the room is available for families to stay in at no charge all year long.
In 2012, we would like to continue to allow families to enjoy the Team Carter room at no charge and help the Ronald McDonald House with all the various other needs that come with turning the RMH into a home for numerous families.
This support offered by the RMH is dependent on the generosity of others. Team Carter’s goal is to create awareness and support for this organization that turns family’s tragedies into memorable experiences. The staff, volunteers and other families at the RMH help families find the strength and character needed to bear the unbearable.
After months of training, and hours of determination, on September 23rd, Carter Biata will be waiting at the Rochester marathon finish line to see his family and friends complete their mission to “run for miracles”. He will not realize the impact he’s had on so many—to keep believing in miracles, to count our blessings, to celebrate the strength in life that comes from family, friends and organizations like the Ronald McDonald House. With your donation, you can be part of the next miracle and help the RMH continue to be an oasis of strength and support for families facing unimaginable hardships. Thank you for your ongoing contributions and dedication to our cause! God Bless
