***Update, As many of you are aware, once I arrived in San Fran, the most random thing happened to me. I got married to an America girl.
I am continuing this adventure, but now i'm circumnavigating the USA with my wife. Hopefully ended up where I started, at my new home - New York City. The second part of this adventure i'll be joined with my awesome wife, Julie. ****
On May 4th, 2011 I shall be leaving the U.K and head to the USA for an adventure of a lifetime. The plan is to get from New York to Seattle, solo on a bicycle. THAT'S RIGHT, you heard me, I'm going to cycle across America..... The land of the free... errr, yes.
From Seattle, I have no plans or a time frame, just the sprit of adventure which I hope will keep me going all the way around the world until I find my way home..... The random way home.
I've worked out with the money i'm taking, if I'm careful I should be able to last a couple of years on the road. This time, I shall try my hand at vlogging (Video Blogging). Don't worry, I shall also be taking my camera to carry on my love of documentary and travel photography.
My final charity I have chosen is CURE CHILDHOOD CANCER. An America charity us Brits may not be familiar with. Let me explain why i've chosen this final charity.
My friends Marcus and Ashley who live in Savannah, Georgia have three wonderful girls - Lexi (8 years), Caymen (4 years) & Avalon (2 years). Last year Avalon was diagnosed with leukaemia and has been in and out of hospital since this awful news.
The vision of Cure Childhood Cancer is that childhood cancers can be cured in our lifetime. The money raised will go on research to discovering cures for childhood cancer through cutting edge research and support to patients and their families.
It's been a roller coaster of a year for the whole family and without a doubt it made perfect sense to dedicate this bicycle trip across America (and beyond) to the the very brave Ava and her awesome family.
So please dig deep. It only takes a second to donate.
