Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Hello, I am the Co-Founder of Yes U Can USA. For those of you who know me, you already know the path that I am on and my commitment to Yes U Can. For those of you who don't know me, I was diagnosed with Progressive MS in 1995 and am now considered a 'quadriplegic'. Prior to this, I was an exceptional athlete, amateur artist and musician and outdoor enthusiast.
The body is meant to move, it is not meant to stay still. Here at Yes U Can, we develop and implement programs for people with disabilities to get their bodies moving… no matter what their level of ability. Our latest program is the adapted bike program. It's a great way to get active while enjoying the outdoors. I didn't think it would ever be possible for me and others like me, to be riding a bike again, but with the help of University of Delaware's Mechanical Engineering Students and Staff and Yes U Can's very own Engineering Consultant and Outdoor Program Coordinator, Wayne Hunter, riding a bike is becoming a reality.
That is why the Freedom Ride is so important. It will get disabled vets and individuals like myself, moving again via a bike. But to do so, we need your help to raise money— purchasing and adapting these bikes is very expensive.
So please consider giving, your gift is important... the size is not. $5, $10, $20, or whatever you can give will help us purchase these adapted bikes so, like you, we can have the 'Freedom to Ride'.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too or to create their own fundraising page to rasise money for the Freedom Ride.!
