Willie's mom, Jean, suffers from the debilitating disease. From an early age, he watched as she perservered through pain, and made him the winner he is!

Lupus is a chronic, inflammatory disease in which the body’s immune system fails to serve its normal protective functions and forms antibodies that attack healthy tissue and organs. The 17TH Annual Lupus Loop 5K will be held on Saturday, September 8th, 2012 on the Great Lawn at Heinz Field. It is their largest and most important fund-raising event that directly benefits the patients and families that they serve. Special events like the 5K are a prime source of funding for the continuation of foundation services and are an investment in the lives of the people they serve!
