Karen Willis's Fundraising Page
Welcome!!!!
Please join MAAV in celebrating
15 years of commitment to the community & violence prevention
Sunday, October 17th is the Annual Walk and Candlelight Vigil for the Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV).
It is a Very Special year for us as it is our 15th Anniversary!!!
The purpose of this walk is to honor victims of Domestic Violence, promote public awareness and raise funds for MAAV's prevention programs.
As many of you are aware, I am a Domestic Violence surviver, making this a matter that hits very close to home for me.
The picture to the left is of myself and my beautiful, extraordinary, incredibly confident Stepdaughter.
She graduated 3rd in her class this past May & in now a Freshman in College!!!
The cycle of Domestic Violence was broken with her and I thank God everyday for that!
My Team's name "Yesterday's Child" is a reference to the final movement in an amazing and innovative Drum & Bugle Corp show that I had the honor to be a part of. The premise and/or goal of Suncoast Sounds 1988 show was to raise awareness of the harsh and at time potentially life threating situations children face in our society today, including the issue of Domestic Violence.
I have set my fundraising goal high this year but I know with all your help we can make it happen!!
Please help me help MAAV give other women, their families and children the opportunity to break the cycle of Domestic Violence by donating to such a worth while and Life Saving cause.
If you are uncomfortable donating via the Internet, you can also send a check to payable to MAAV to:
MAAV
235 West Foster St
Melrose, MA 02176.
Please remember to write "Team - Yesterday's Child" in the memo box so I will know to thank you personally for your donation.
You can also join my walking team by clicking on the "Join the team" link above on the right.
Hope to see you at the walk.
God bless you & Thank you for supporting MAAV
