As you may know, this year marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Brian Malmon, brother of Executive Director Alison Malmon and the inspiration for the founding of Active Minds.  It is in Brian's honor that a special opportunity was created by groups and individuals who have pledged to match donations made to Active Minds each month this calendar year.  As part of this opportunity, the Alumni Network has pledged to raise at least $2,010 in honor of this year's graduating class, which will match all donations made by other supporters to Active Minds in the month of May 2010. 

This is where you come in!-- we are asking you, as dedicated members, supporters and alumni of Active Minds, to help us reach our pledge by participating in the Active Minds Alumni Network 2010 Matching Initiative.  Remember, any donation is truly significant and you can make a huge difference even with just a few dollars. 

Below are examples of the materials/support that different amounts of money can bring to Active Minds Chapters:

• $5     Produces materials for 3 Chapter Coordinator Outreach Trips
• $10  Supports initial materials for one new developing chapter
• $25  Sends welcome materials to 5 new chapters
• $50  Provides one student scholarship for our annual National Mental       Health on Campus Conference
• $100  Covers the cost for four chapters to participate in National Stress Out Day of National Day without Stigma
• $250  Provides funding for one Chapter Development grant awarded to     deserving active chapters
• $500  Provides discounts for one chapter to bring a Heard speaker to their campus
