Welcome and thanks for visiting my AIDS Ride for Life 2012 fundraising page.
As everyone knows, AIDS is a global issue that affects people from all walks of life around the world. Viruses like AIDS don't care about politics, sexual orientation, geography, gender, race or any of the other things we sometimes use to define ourselves and others. And ignorance helps them to spread as much as any other factor. AIDS continues to be a serious problem and the number of people LIVING with AIDS grows every day.
But it doesn’t have to. We can help in the Global Fight Against AIDS by working to turn the tide in our own communities. The Southern Tier AIDS Program (www.stapinc.org) does that every day by providing client services, AIDS education & prevention and HIV testing for an 8 county area in New York’s Southern Tier region. The work they do is crucial to the local fight against AIDS and STAP counts on the support of the community to help them get the job done.
Each year the community shows support for STAP and its mission through participation in the AIDS Ride for Life by riding, volunteering or sponsoring riders with donations. Participating cyclists choose to ride 42, 50 or 100 miles along or around Cayuga Lake and ask sponsors to donate on their behalf to help STAP pay for the services they provide. The ride is one of STAP’s most important funding sources with riders having raised nearly 1/4 of a million dollars last year. This year the AIDS Ride For Life will take place on 9-15-12 and I can’t wait!
This will be my 8th AIDS Ride For Life, Sarah's second and daughter Madelines 1st and we will again be riding as a member of Team Felicia. My team mates and I will be riding 100 miles around Cayuga Lake to raise both awareness and money for the Fight Against AIDS. Please help us achieve victory on both counts by sponsoring me in the 2012 Ride. ANY amount (really) will help. Both STAP and I really appreciate it!
To those of you who have sponsored me in years past, welcome back! To those of you sponsoring for the first time, welcome aboard!
On behalf of STAP and the Gobal Fight against AIDS, I THANK YOU for your support and sponsorship!
THINK GLOBALLY, BIKE LOCALLY!
