2011 DSAT Buddy Walk
My name is Jackson Ricketts. I am 3 1/2 years old and full of energy! I love playing with my brothers and puppies....I even started school this past January and I love my class! I have been feeling great and even started taking a few steps all by myself. My Daddy and Mama are very proud of how much progress I have made over the past year….oh yeah, did I mention I have Down syndrome? :)
I hope that you will help me celebrate my accomplishments by participating in the 2011 Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa (DSAT) Buddy Walk. You can help me in a couple of different ways. First, our family would love for you to join us! The Buddy Walk is a lot of fun…we have great prizes, give-aways, food, and fun activities for the whole family. It would really mean a lot to me if my friends and family joined me on this special day.
You can also help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation to my team…I have a big goal this year, but the money raised helps DSAT, a non-profit organization, enhance the lives of individuals with Down syndrome, their families and caregivers . This is accomplished by providing support, encouragement, current information, education, opportunities for socialization and by promoting community recognition of the inherent dignity of all people with developmental disabilities. DSAT has changed my family’s life forever, and this is one small way we can give back.
The Buddy Walk is October 16th (1:30 – 4:00 p.m.) at Union Public School’s Central Park in Tulsa (62nd & Mingo south of the 6/7 Grade Center). I hope you will join me…..I am so excited to show you all of the progress I have made over the past year! Check out this link for a slideshow from last year…..I think you will enjoy it! http://youtu.be/yV7cGK6OTNk
