Jackson Avery Ricketts was born December 21, 2007 at 10:07 a.m. weighing 5 pounds, 9 ounces.  Shortly after his birth, we were informed that Jackson displayed signs of Down Syndrome, which was confirmed Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 2:30 p.m.  Needless to say, we were shocked, but soon realized that God gave us this little boy to love and cherish and we are very grateful for that. 

In the weeks to come, Jackson faced a lot of medical procedures, as well as two surgeries.  Next month, Jackson will undergo open-heart surgery to repair defects discovered shortly after his birth.  Sometimes we just sit back and talk about what a strong little man we have, and how proud we are of everything he has accomplished so far.

We can honestly say that we would not have made such great progress with Jackson if we did not have such spectacular caregivers and support systems.  We are establishing lifelong relationships, and we are grateful for everything we have in our lives.
