Jess needs your help!

Jess is such a lucky hound... a couch to lie on and owners who feed her, exercise her, take her to the vet when needed, and cuddle her at every opportunity.  Not all hounds are that lucky.  This year Golden Gate Basset Rescue are seeing more and more hounds being surrendered due to the economy.  Most of the hounds have been loved and well cared for and owners are reluctantly surrendering them as they can no longer afford the care of a dog, or are having to move to a house or apartment where dogs are not allowed. 

Luckily, we have some wonderful adopters and foster homes to step up and help out.  GGBR have increased expenses to get these dogs ready to move on, especially with some of the medical expense cases we've had this year.

For anyone who has helped out before, you know that this is GGBR's main fundraiser of the year.  Approximately 100 hounds parading (we call it Waddling) down the main street of Novato on the 4th of July and following the Waddle with a picnic event at Marion Park Baseball Field.  Every year we have a King or Queen who raised the most money in pledges and another hound with a 'good story' to be the 'Consort'....
