About Adrianne Ross: Adrianne was diagnosed with Cardiomyopthy at a week old. She had a heart transplant on May 26th 2007 when she was 9 years old after a 17 week stay at UAB Hospital. Adrianne is a little over a year out of surgery and is doing GREAT. She is ready to compete in the Transplant Games in 2008 & 2010, games are held every other year in the U.S.. Go Team Alabama Bring Home The Gold!!!
About The Transplant Games: The U.S. Transplant Games are like the Olympics for transplant patients, their families and their donor families. The games are a celebration of life and they offer the transplant recipient and family a chance to honor their donor and donor family. Donor families can participate in the games and are often the best cheerleaders. It cost Team Alabama upward to $300,000 to participate in the games. Adrianne will be participating in the Softball throw and cycling in honor of her donor,Jhai'Quonne.
About Team Alabama: As part of the National Kidney Foundation of Alabama, Team Alabama 2008 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization. Our team members include organ recipients, donor families, living donors, health care professionals, and their families and friends. We are heavily involved in fund raising activities to defray the costs associated with sending athletes to The U.S. Transplant Game “The Games” are held under the auspices of The National Kidney Foundation.
