Buenos Dias!
And thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
After touring Latin America and getting a first-hand glimpse of the troubles that plague Central America, I have decided to work for a year in Costa Rica to better understand a beautiful country that simply needs some helping hands. Beginning in January 2012, I will be volunteer teaching, through nonprofit WorldTeach, at an elementary school in a small rural village. I will be living with a host family and teaching English to students in grades 1-6.
Costa Rica is supported largely by its agricultural exports, but also increasingly by tourism. With the influx of tourists from all over the world, speaking English is now more and more important in order to remain competitive in the job market. With this recent necessity to learn English, local teachers are moving to the larger cities and towns leaving the rural villages without English instruction. I will be placed in a small pueblo in order to give all Costa Rican children, especially those most in need, an opportunity to succeed.
World Teach is a nonprofit organization that works with the local governments of developing countries to help provide educators in an effort to increase education and literacy rates around the globe. Because of my recent involvement with World Teach and my desire to assist in the futures of children in Latin America, I am working to help fundraise money to keep this incredible organization alive.

My past volunteer experiences and the opportunities I have had to work with children, especially abroad, have been the most rewarding times of my life. I can only imagine what the next year will hold. With your support, I can lend a hand in the education and future of some eager children who are only waiting for an opportunity.
Feel free to pass this along to your family and friends!
All donations go directly to World Teach and are tax deductible.
I greatly appreciate your support! Thank you so much!
