New Balance Falmouth Road Race Falmouth,  Massachusetts

New Balance Falmouth Road Race

Dear Family, friends, co-workers and loyal supporters,

Oh yes, here we go again!!! This year is very special as it marks the 5th year anniversary of team Genesis running Falmouth! 5 years ago, My Dad and I founded TEAM GENESIS, to raise critical funds for those struggling with mental illness and help to "MAKE STRIDES FOR MENTAL HEALTH" by raising awareness and breaking down the stigma (please take a moment to watch the YouTube video to the right). Also if you don't know our story yet of how we started this running program please take a moment to read the below.

HOW WE STARTED TEAM GENESIS 5 YEARS AGO:

Ever since I can remember The Genesis Club has been a huge part of my life, so has Cape Cod. Both sides of my family the Stangle and Bradley's summered on the Cape each year. As for Genesis most of you know the Executive Director or Kevin or feel like you know him from reading his bio or hearing me talk highly of him. If you have met him even briefly, then you already know how much pride and passion he has for his work and the Genesis Club.

Every year Dad wants to run his age, and every year I tell him OK but this is his last race. If you do know him, it is never his last race. I guess I got him started on this "little" Falmouth Road Race kick. In college, I had the life-changing experience of interning at The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and decided to run Falmouth to raise money for the cause. Being the supportive father that he is my dad ran every step of the 7.2 mile race with me in the summer heat. My grandfather, Dadda watched so proudly at mile 5.5 with the rest of the Bradley clan. His face lit up to see his son and granddaughter run by together for a great cause.

That winter Dadda passed away at age 90 after nothing less than an extraordinary life. Shortly after, my father and I developed Team Genesis in his loving memory. Dadda was always a huge enthusiast of The Genesis Club and the impact it has on people struggling with mental illness. Now, each August Dad and I line up in Woods Hole along with 12,000 other runners and ask ourselves why the hell we are doing this again. When we hit mile 5.5, it all makes complete sense knowing we have one more fan looking down on us and cheering us to the finish line.

Please take the time to donate even if its a small amount every cent counts and 100% of the dollars raised are used to support the Genesis Wellness Program of exercise, nutrition and tobacco cessation for those struggling with mental illness. You can make an online donation here via this website, it is the easiest, safest and quickest way to donate to the cause. Please pass along to anyone else who might be interested in donating.

If you are unable to donate then please time a minute just to get to know or support Team Genesis by visiting the website (www.genesisclub.org). We all run for different reasons, but we all run together to "MAKE STRIDES FOR MENTAL HEALTH".

Thank you all for your continued love and support year after year!! It means the world to me, my father and many others.

With much love and gratitude,

Aidan
