I've been a Farm Sanctuary supporter for a long time, and have done the walk in the past. I am lucky to live near the Farm Sanctuary's New York shelter, and it is my favorite place on earth. The animals on the farm--pigs (my favorite), cows, chickens, roosters, goats, rabbits, sheep, and even a cat--are so happy and so loved. I can't express how fun and rewarding it is to rub a pig's belly or look into the calm, deep eyes of a cow. Zoop, the goat with a prosthetic leg, had a fun time butting my thighs. In addition to operating its two shelters, the Farm Sanctuary also supports education and outreach campaigns to improve the lives of farm animals who are not lucky enough to live at the Farm.
