As you know, the Icla da Silva Foundation was founded after my 13 year old sister, Icla, died of leukemia.  Although my family and I searched for the best doctor and hospital to save her, a bone marrow donor was not found and she passed away.

The Icla da Silva Foundation was foundation to save lives by recruiting marrow donors and providing  support services to children and adults with leukemia and other diseases treatable by bone marrow transplants.

As of today we have recruited over 200,000 new bone marrow donors and helped over 250 patients receive the transplant they needed.    We have also provided logistical, emotional and financial support to over 450 patients.
