There is nothing more meaningful than the woman in your life!   Whether she is your mother, aunt, sister, daughter, lover or friend... she has that special place in your life that is irreplaceable. It is for these women that you cherish, and the Mother I adore, that I solicit your support for this cause.

     In July 2007, Divas For A Cure will take to the road for the second year, traveling cross country to raise funds and awareness to aid in the fight to find a cure for Breast Cancer. Last year I rode nearly 4,000 miles, this year I will ride over 6,000.

     Divas For A Cure was founded by Jan "Sunny" Emanuel, a young breast cancer and stroke survivor, and mother of four sons. Riding her Harley has become more than just a past-time, it has become a vehicle of passion to help spread the word, and enlighten others, especially women, about this disease which does not discriminate, having no respect of age, sex, race or origin.

      Sunny lit a fire within me to ride along side her on my Honda Shadow last summer through rain, heat, wind and twilight hours to demonstrate how serious we are to make a difference. This year WE will ride approximately 22 days for mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, countless strangers...yours and ours!

      Determined to thrive not merely survive... This was the conclusion my mother made almost nine years ago when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and decided "she wasn't done yet" on this earth. She knew she had more living, caring and loving to do.  She is a SURVIVOR, and a DIVA! So for the enduring strength so many survivors demonstrate every day, I am preparing to ride from Los Angeles to Maryland and back this summer to raise funds to find a cure for breast cancer.

      Thousands of women annually are diagnosed with breast cancer. One of the reasons I am supporting this ride is that NONE of the funds donated on this site will be used to fund the bikers expenses while traveling on this ride.  Each rider will be responsible for our own personal expenses (food, gas, lodging, etc.). $.90 cents of each dollar raised last year was donated to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for breast cancer research... ($25,000!!!). THAT is what supporting a cause and finding a cure is all about.  So YOU now know your donation is going directly to a Cancer Center where it will impact the lives of those in need.
