Thank you friends and family for visiting our Personal Fundraising Page......
This April we are running our very first Boston Marathon for Jonathan Malerba and Neurofibromatosis (NF). This cause is very close to our hearts because, as many of you already know, our very good friends Michael and Melissa's little boy Jonathan has been diagnosed with NF1. Jonathan is 4 years old.
The mission of Neurofibromatosis, Inc., Northeast is to find the cure for NF by promoting scientific reasearch, creating awareness, and supporting those who are affected by NF. Neurofibromatosis (neuro-fibroma-tosis) is a neaurological disorder that can cause tumors to form on the nerves anywhere in or on the body at any time. NF's affects are devastating, painful and unstoppable.....can cause blindness, deafness, paralysis and even death. Some endure seizures, digestive-tract problems, poor balance and a host of other complications. Surgery to remove tumors can help control the disease but often, the relief is only temporary bacause the tumors grow back. For more info on NF go to www.nfincne.org
Running the Boston Marathon is something we thought we would never do. But we are committed in putting one foot in front of the other, through rain, slush and snow, and crossing that finish line on race day for JONATHAN and NF. The training will be long and difficult, but knowing that Jonathan and all the kids, men and women out there affected by this disease, will benefit from the money we raise makes the training worth it. We are committed to finding a cure, but we need your help.
Our goal is to raise $10,000. Please help us reach our goal by donating any amount that you can. Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated. Hopefully one day we can say we helped find a cure for NF. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure and sent directly to NF Inc Northeast by FirstGiving who will email you a printable record of your donation or if you would like to donate by check please send a check payable to NF Inc. Northeast to either one of us.
We thanks you for your support and encourage you to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too.
