Luke is our Golden Lab Retriever.  He is also a cancer survivor.  We adopted him, just as he adopted us, from the Kootenai Humane Society five years ago.  Luke is 8 years old now.   He has provided us with a constant flow of unconditional love, companionship and joy that has enriched our lives many times over.  Luke loves people, as well as other animals (as reflected in this photo sharing his bed with our newest addition to the family, Meeka, a 9-week old Seal point Rag doll kitten also adopted from KHS) and since we live on the Spokane River, it is difficult to keep him out of the water.  He loves to fetch his toys, especially from the water.  Luke is truly a gift from God!!  We are thankful for him each and everyday.
