Control Risks' Fundraising Page
Control Risks is ready to get down and dirty!
As part of ongoing efforts to support Merlin and to kick start its North American operations, Alex Cottin, Valon Xharra, Merrit Kennedy, Matt Skinner and Ryan Murphy are taking on a fundraising challenge by competing in the annual Big Sur Mud Run - a 5 mile obstacle course taking place on March 28, 2009.
We are supporting Merlin’s mission - to provide health care for people at times when they are most in need - because we believe that their ethos and spirit mirror ours; just like Control Risks, Merlin has a practical, hands-on approach to the work it carries out
We are motivated to raise awareness for this cause and hope you can support our efforts by helping us raise a modest contribution in support of Merlin’s mission.
When we say every penny counts, we mean it! Just to give you some perspective:
$1 can vaccinate a child against measles
$20 can pay for 2,000 chlorine tablets for safe drinking water
$50 can pay for treatment to prevent HIV+ pregnant mothers passing the virus onto babies
$100 could train fishermen to promote HIV awareness in Kenya
$200 can buy birthing kits for a community midwife to deliver 10 babies
$1,000 can buy medical kits to equip 6 community midwives
Staying consistent with Control Risks' style of operations, we will be running through treacherous terrain in a challenging environment.… But we need your support. Your donation, however modest, will make a big difference.
We promise to do our best and get really dirty in the process -- photos to follow!
Many thanks for your support!
