This year has been extremely busy with the inclusion of many new patient contacts, growth within our fifteen support groups, expansion of our ongoing outreach to our members and free education forums in New York City, Hartford, Rochester, Long Island and Syracuse.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our supporters...

• Over the past five years the Tri-State, Inc. Chapter has provided $900,000 to the Scleroderma Foundation and its research programs.
• The Scleroderma Foundation has expended $8.55 million funding research from 2003-2008.
• Since 2000, contributions have helped to fund over $1.1 million of research within New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
• Over 5,000 people receive each issue of the Tri-State newsletter "Scleroderma Exchange."

The mission of the Scleroderma Foundation/Tri-State, Inc. Chapter is tree fold;

• To provide educational and emotional support to people with scleroderma and their families;
• To stimulate and support research designed to identify the cause and cure of scleroderma as well as improve methods of treatment;
• To enhance the public's awareness of this disease.

At the beginning of 2009 the Foundation will publish a list of people in whose honor or memory gifts have been made.  Please indicate "in honor of ..." or "in memory of ..." (the person) in your comments so we can acknowledge her or him.
