Why Care about Ovarian Cancer?
Ovarian Cancer can be treated if detected early.
- The vast majority of cases are not diagnosed until the cancer has spread beyond the ovaries.
- The majority of women with ovarian cancer experience varying symptoms that often mimic those of less life-threatening conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome.
- With early detection, the survival rate increases DRAMATICALLY - more than 93% of women survive longer than 5 years.
- There is a need for researchers to develop a comprehensive screening tool for ovarian cancer.
More On My Charity:
The Norma Livingston Foundation is committed to improving the survival rates and quality of life for women fighting ovarian cancer, the silent killer. The Foundation provides funding for ovarian cancer research at UAB Hospital, helps raise awareness, and promotes education about ovarian cancer.
