I am, for the third year in a row, running the Boston Marathon which is taking place on April 16th. I have decided to run for a different team this year - the Boston Living Center. The Living Center strives to foster the wellness of all HIV positive individuals and respond to the changing needs of the HIV/AIDS community.
My first job out of college shared space in the Living Center building in the South End of Boston. I witnessed first hand the impact that the Living Center had on HIV positive community members by offering them a warm meal, a place to rest and be welcomed. Half of Living Center members are below the poverty line and 40% are homeless or living in precarious housing situations. The Living Center truly offers a respite from the daily struggles for these folks and I am honored to be able to run for them this year. You can learn more about the Living Center at www.bostonlivingcenter.org if you'd like.
I would be grateful for any and all donations to support my run. You can either donate online here or mail me a check (63 Maple St Easthampton MA 01027) made out to the Boston Living Center.
With gratitude,
Alexis
