Thank you for visiting my 2010 Polar Plunge fundraising page!
The past couple of months I have been an assitant coach for the
Special Olympics basketball team in Ann Arbor. Every Tuesday we have
practices that are designed to teach the players fundamentals of
basketball, but most importantly to allow everyone to have a great
time and feel accomplished at the end of the day for having done their
best.
Not only do our practices benefit the players, but everyone else
involved as well. The parents/care takers of the players come to
practice to watch with looks of pride and happiness the entire
time. Personally, I have learned so much from the experience of being
an assistant coach and I know that I am blessed to have had the
experience to work with my team. I have learned how kind and pure of heart others can be. I have learned that no matter what the score is
at the end of the game, we are all winners.
The Polar Plunge is made possible by the Law Enforcement Torch Run®, a group of police officers and corrections personnel committed to raising funds and awareness for SOMI. Proceeds from the Polar Plunge support the year-round sports training and athletic competition for more than 17,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities who live in Michigan.
I have committed to support the athletes of Special Olympics Michigan by taking the plunge in 2010. Polar Plunges are a fun and unique way to support Special Olympics Michigan.
Once again thank you for visiting my page and considering making a donation. With your support we can truly make a difference.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
