Alice Taggart's Fundraising Page
Hi everyone!
Thank you for supporting G-ROW's 6th Annual Ergathon! As most of you know, I am the Novice Coach and Academic Coordinator for G-ROW Boston, and it is pretty much the best job ever. Not only do I get to coach girls in the Boston Public Schools--teaching them how to row and move a boat FAST, but I also get to coordinate tutoring and help them with any academic needs they may have.
Each year, the girls travel to warmer places for a spring training trip over February vacation. It's a great opportunity for them to bond as a team, see a new place, and get in a LOT of water time after a long winter inside. The spring trip is always the highlight of the season, and this year will be no exception--we are going to California to row in San Diego! We have a wonderful opportunity to row at a club there and see local colleges and universities, museums, and a whole new state. We can't wait!
Each of the girls has committed to raising funds all winter long, and as their coach, I never ask them to do something I can't do. I will be raising money this season as well, with all of our efforts leading up to our 6th Annual Ergathon, taking place on January 30th at the Prudential Center in Boston. Each girl on the team will row roughly 5000 meters on rowing machines, contributing to a team goal of 150,000 meters. Your donations will make a big difference in the lives of these girls by providing them with a wonderful opportunity to grow as a team and see California.
Thank you so much for your support!
