I started running half marathons this spring and this even will be my third 13.1 mile run.  One of my good friends from culinary school was diagnosed with malignant melanoma  last winter and will be visiting me in Denver to run this race.  Luckily, he found his cancer quickly and even though he underwent two surgeries, things are looking good.  In my early twenties, I had a basal cell carcinoma and have been a sunscreen queen ever since.  I am honored to help my friend and raise money for The Melanoma Research Foundation.
