I will be participating in the Lupus Walk as part of the Lupus Alliance of Upstate New York on September 14, 2008 in Cheektowaga, NY.  I am doing this as a joint effort with my family (Dad, Amber, Joe and Rachel), in loving memory of my mom (April 7, 1952-November 2, 2006), April Ann Walf, who lived with lupus for 15 years.  She, like many others who have lupus, left us much too soon.  As such, this walk is so important to me, my family and all of her many friends.  If you were blessed to know my Mother, she was truly one of a kind. We want to continue supporting the efforts she was involved in for better understanding, diagnoses, and treatment of this condition. 

We have garnered the support of the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel (my sister, Amber's, employer) program called Seneca Cares.  Amber is now Team Captain of the Seneca Cares team and we are trying to raise as much as possible as a team. If you anyone would like to donate/walk/join the Team, it would be much appreciated!
