October 31st, 2009 I leave Peacedale, RI, and will ride my motorcycle across the USA, through Mexico, Central Ameica and South America. Twisted Throttle (providers of high quality motorcycle adventure touring accessories--www.TwistedThrottle.com) is sponsoring me by outfitting my motorcycle, and I am paying all my own travel expenses on this journey. Please know that when you donate to this cause, every single dollar goes straight to the folks that are researching cures.
Both of my grandmothers died of cancer -- GG from breast cancer and Nanny from cervical/uterine cancer. I was honored and very privileged to be one of this summer's fundraiers in the "Dirty Dozen" group, the Adventure for the Cure. It was a great opportunity for me to take action and help the Women’s Motorcyclist Foundation (www.womensmotorcyclistfoundation.org) raise money for the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (www.gynecologiccancerfoundation.org) and the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation (www.drsusanloveresearchfoundation.org).
As I was planning this current trip, I decided 'why not' make this trip a fundraising adventure as well. Certainly I am going to generate some press being a female rider, and I hope to bring valuable attention to these worthy causes.
I believe it is possible to find a cure within my lifetime, and I aim to see it.
DONATE! - LET'S MAKE THIS POSSIBLE
It’s easy to give on-line. Just click the sponsor me now button below. If you prefer to send a check, make it payable to the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation, note on the memo line, "Adventure-Cure: Alisa Clickenger" and send it to my attention at:

Every little bit helps, so please donate what you can. Let's take a ride and find a cure.
See you on the road, ~Alisa
The Women’s Motorcyclist Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable, educational organization. As an all volunteer army of peaceful warriors, our riders have contributed over 2.2 million dollars towards the eradication of breast cancer by funding research. To date, our efforts have been mostly on behalf of Susan G Komen for a Cure.
